OSSPORE Perox Chip M – Biodegradable Antimicrobial Periodontal Chip

OSSPORE Perox Chip M is an advanced local drug delivery (LDD) system developed for the treatment of chronic periodontitis and deep periodontal pockets. The biodegradable gelatin-based chip is designed to deliver antimicrobial agents directly into periodontal pockets, providing prolonged therapeutic action while minimizing systemic exposure.

The chip is easy to place after scaling and root planing and adapts closely to the periodontal pocket. Once inserted, it gradually biodegrades while releasing antimicrobial agents over approximately 7–10 days, helping reduce pathogenic bacteria and support healing of periodontal tissues.

OSSPORE Perox Chip M is indicated for periodontal pockets measuring 5 mm or deeper. Its sustained-release technology allows medication to remain at the treatment site for an extended period, improving bacterial control without requiring repeated applications.

The biodegradable gelatin matrix eliminates the need for removal after placement, improving patient comfort and simplifying post-treatment care. The material demonstrates excellent tissue compatibility and remains securely positioned within the pocket during the treatment period.

This product is suitable for use by periodontists, implantologists, and general dentists as an adjunct to conventional periodontal therapy. It may help improve periodontal health by supporting pocket healing and reducing bacterial recolonization after debridement. Local delivery systems are commonly used as an adjunct to scaling and root planing rather than a replacement for mechanical periodontal treatment
